EAR TO THE FOREST – sound workshops
During the workshops, we’ll turn into a proper and good sense of hearing. In the forest and on a meadow we’ll learn to open our ears in a few new ways. We’ll look for music and check if no-one dumps any sound garbage there. Finally, we’ll record our findings in order to be able to use them in a short film, which will be made during the film workshops.
Workshop leader: Jacek Szczepanek – sound artist, sound engineer and musicologist. His musical searches are focused on speech, sound landscapes and listening to music in public space. He’s recorded, among others, in the highest places of the Tatra Mountains, a brown coal mine and in minus 15 degrees. He led sound walks through the Sobieszewo Island, Służew and the main campus of the University of Warsaw.
